Who We Are

BRH Capital is the result of a merger between Blackrock Lending and The Rockpool People.

Blackrock Lending was founded in 2020 by Mes Ulusoylu whilst The Rockpool People was founded in 2015 by Tim Bateman. Mes and Tim have worked together on a number of funding projects and the positive energy between the two led to the inception of BRH Capital in 2022.

Mes Ulusoylu

Mes is the founder and director of BRH Capital.

Mes has spent the last 15 years of his career in the property & construction industry. His career began in property management, and progress through to sales, commercial & retail letting, and evolved into brokerage over more recent years. Over the course of his career, he has developed an acute understanding of the property buying and building process from inception to completion.

In addition to facilitating the purchase of property, he has been – and continues to be – an active investor in residential property and small scale property developments. Mes continues to build his presence in the mortgage broking world, and specialises in the nuances of major bank funding scenarios.

Tim Bateman

Tim is an executive director and partner of BRH Capital.

Tim has close to 30 years experience in the financial services industry, having spent the last 7 years as Founder and Director of his boutique finance brokerage business, The Rockpool People.

Prior to founding The Rockpool People in 2015, Tim spent 13 years in London working in the derivatives markets before making a lifestyle move to Sydney in 2010. Over the course of his career, his business interests have expanded into private lending, residential property, technology and brick-and-mortar ventures.

Outside of business, Tim has three kids whom he adores, is an avid golfer, cricketer and loves getting out on the water in any capacity.

The successful merger between BRH Capital and The Rockpool People is the culmination of years of dedication to building a strong client base in TRP and allows Tim to focus on the commercial, development funding and private lending arms of the business.

Mes was amazing to deal with, by far the best service I've ever experienced. He managed to get us more than we thought we could get and also changed over two of our invesment property loans and saved us thousands a year in interest! - he is very professional, patient, knowledgeable, respectful and most importantly replies to all emails in a timely manner and always answers the phone which I shouldn't get too excited about but that's the time we live in now, the service he provided us is so hard to find these days.
